Praising Faith

It seems reflexive in our society to have respect for deep faith. We elevate the importance of bishops’, rabbis’, and other godly men’s words despite not necessarily having any special expertise or insight on moral or political issues. Often the more faithful one is the deeper the respect we give them. Continuing on that logical path a British bishop has found himself backpedaling.

Bishop Venner told the paper the insurgents could “perhaps be admired for their conviction to their faith and their sense of loyalty to each other”.

So, is faith a virtue or not? If this shows it isn’t, why admire it in anybody?
