America and the world are better off now that Osama bin Laden is dead.
I just happen to be reading Lawrence Wright’s Pulitzer Prize winning The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11. The book closes with a list of “principal characters.”
Osama bin Laden: Born in Riyadh in January 1958; became a fund-raiser for the Afghan jihad after the Soviet invasion in 1979; founded al-Qaeda in 1988. Where-abouts unknown.
My book needs an update.
